Remember remember

In response to dverse poets’ latest quadrille challenge, which is a poem in exactly 44 words containing the word ‘echo’:

And weeks
After her death
They thought they heard her
Still
As they moved around
The places they’d laughed in
Together
But it was her gift
Of illusion
An echo wrapped in gossamer
Almost visible
Cool as the grave
She inhabited

  1. I think that could go either way, Diana. They could be fond whispers or not so much. It’s cool that it leaves the mind to wander. When I first read it, it seemed like a happy memory to me. Maybe it’s just me
